County Road WD Public Involvement Meeting

Information for the planned reconditioning of approximately 1.611 miles of County Road WD in the Town of Winfield will be discussed at a public involvement meeting on Monday, April 6, 2026.  The meeting will be held from 5 p.m. – 6 p.m. at the Town of Dellona Town Hall, E8062 County Road H, Lyndon Station.

 The Sauk County Highway Department is proposing to reconstruct and recondition County Road WD from the intersection with County Road K to the intersection with D and W Road.

The project will consist of cold-in-place recycling for the majority of the project.   A portion of the project will consist of reconstruction (County Road K intersection to approximately 0.6 miles east on County Road WD).  Drainage/ditching will also be improved through the reconstruction section.  Culvert pipes will be replaced throughout the project length. Skinner Road and D and W Road will be realigned to improve intersection sight distance.

County Road WD will be closed to traffic during construction operations.  No detour will be provided.  Construction is currently scheduled for the 2026 construction season.  

The April 6th meeting will begin with a short presentation at 5 p.m. followed by an open house format with a variety of exhibits and maps available for review.  Representatives from Jewell Associates Engineers will be on hand to answer questions.  Attendees will have the option of making written or verbal comments during the gathering.  Persons who are unable to attend on April 6th can contribute comments about the project by contacting Ellery Schaffer, P.E., at: Jewell Associates Engineers, 560 Sunrise Drive, Spring Green, WI 53588.  Phone 608-588-7484.   Email: [email protected].
